Marine Services
Roe is a leader in environmental mitigation planning and compliance monitoring for major marine infrastructure projects in sensitive environments.
Our team has extensive experience managing large-scale projects under multi-jurisdictional regulatory landscapes, high stakeholder scrutiny, and Indigenous rights. We specialize in marine mammal monitoring (MMO) and environmental services, setting new standards for marine terminal construction across British Columbia. Leveraging experience from landmark projects like Woodfibre LNG, we efficiently implement integrated environmental programs for major marine projects.
Roe has been involved in environmental mitigations and planning for many marine construction activities, including:
Pile Driving and Pile Drilling by many methods
Dredging
In-water and Nearshore Contamination Remediation
Shoreline Revetment
In-water and Nearshore Blasting
Geotechnical Drilling
Sonar Assessments & Benthic Surveys
In-water and Nearshore Concrete Construction
In-water and Nearshore Structural Demolition
Our Expertise
Environmental Assessment & Management
Our biologists conduct species risk assessments, evaluate environmental constraints, and support adaptive planning within complex regulatory frameworks. We integrate First Nations’ cultural and land-use objectives into environmental management planning.
Marine Mammal & Underwater Noise Monitoring
Roe leads in MMO and hydroacoustic monitoring, utilizing the largest inventory of state-of-the-art equipment in BC. Our team operates specialized vessels and deploys advanced technologies like FLIR thermal imaging and PAM systems for 24/7 monitoring.
Marine Fish Salvage & Surveys
We conduct fish salvage and monitoring using diving, netting, trapping, SONAR imaging, and underwater cameras, ensuring regulatory compliance and ecological integrity.
Marine Water and Sediment Quality Monitoring
We conduct marine water and sediment quality sampling for both assessment and compliance monitoring, including in situ sampling, laboratory sampling, and ecotoxicological sampling, under direction and oversight of our highly experienced Qualified Environmental Professionals.

Kind Words
“Roe's team has provided marine mammal monitoring and water quality services for the Pedestrian Bridge and Foreshore construction components of Bosa Properties' SEAandSKY waterfront development in the Squamish River estuary. The project, undertaken during Howe Sound's 2024-25 reduced risk in-water work window, is permitted by the District of Squamish and authorized under the federal Fisheries Act, that establish rigorous environmental conditions. Roe's team has taken a professional, responsive approach, delivering efficient, high-quality service to support environmental stewardship, permit compliance, and, ultimately project completion.”
